I am running for the Kansas City Council for many reasons – the most fundamental of which is a genuine care for our city and how it is governed. My professional background, coupled with extensive civic and political involvement over the past two decades, has prepared me to be a constructive leader of the next Council.
My goals include moving Kansas City forward to achieve its full potential as:
The best place to live with safe and well-maintained neighborhoods
The best place to work with good paying jobs, a quality workforce and ever-improving transportation options
The best place to play with clean, safe parks, recreational opportunities for our children and accessible cultural amenities
The best place to raise a family with quality education choices, excellent health care and emergency services, and superior public safety
The best place to visit with a vibrant downtown, midtown and nationally recognized arts and cultural attractions
Extensive experience working with diverse organizations and communities, and successfully managing large financial budgets are qualities that will enable me to have an immediate impact on the Council. Accomplishments in the not-for-profit community have been a result of consensus building; good things happen when people work together for an agreed-upon result.
Kansas City is facing many serious challenges the next Council must address. The city’s annual budget has expanded to a billion dollars – the people’s money needs to be allocated wisely. Delivering basic services and overseeing capital improvements must be handled more efficiently and effectively.
I would sincerely appreciate your support in my campaign for City Council. If you would like to help in the campaign, make a contribution, or have any questions about my candidacy, please Email Me or call me at (816) 756.1964.
